  • She's Here!

Adeline Eizabeth was indeed born at 11:56pm on 1/11/09. She weighed 6lbs 14 oz and was 19 inches long. She has a head full of wavy dark hair and some grey blue mystery eyes. She is lovely, tiny, and oh so sweet.

As you know, contractions really started late Saturday night and into Sunday morning. Between 4:15 and 5:15 I was timing contractions at around 5 minutes apart and in the mean time I took a shower, blow dried my hair, applied a tiny bit of makeup, and finished packing my hospital bag. I woke Jason up and told him I thought it was time to go. He was worried about it not being true labor and waking folks up and what not, so I called the hospital and described things. The nurse said she felt like it was true labor and that I was welcome to come on up or wait it out at home a bit longer if I wanted. It took us another hour to get to the hospital, and we checked in at about 6:45am Sunday January 11th. I was only at 2cm but 90% effaced and the nurse could feel her head very low. They called my clinic's on call doctor and he said since I wanted natural labor and didn't want pitocin or an epidural that I was welcome to go on home and ride it out a bit longer. I didn't really see the point in that since it seemed pretty eminent that I'd be back up there.

Okay, that's part 1, I've got to go feed her. I mean, you know the end of the story. She's here! I tried to add photos to this blog but it didn't work so you can just check out my album. There are only a few from Jason's phone but I'll get more up tomorrow when I get home and have my hook up cords for the camera.
